100 DAYS IN YEAR ONE

On Friday the 19th of June, the year ones had spent 100 days in year 1. To celebrate this, the year 1B class at Caravonica State School participated in an activity morning. They went outside and ran 100 metres, skipped 100 skips and stepped out 100 steps. After that they cut out 100 happy faces and walked around the classroom to write 100 words. They brought in many different things to count to 100. They counted pasta, beads, figurines, coins, pop sticks and blocks. A very popular activity was making the 100 piece fruit loop necklaces. In the afternoon with our buddies we made 101 dalmations. Finally we ate our 100 cake. It was delicious.

Our latest success story, students from year 3 have written so many narratives that they now have their own book of short stories!
Well done Jye, Kane, Jordan and Maija. Keep up the good work.

A Big Thanks

Dawn, a representative from Bunnings Smithfield, came to school to help Prep B and 1PC plant a flower garden. She brought with her lots of salvias, petunias and mini snapdragons. A group of children from the two classes planted them in a new garden that Mr Thomas made between the staffroom and prep walkway. Dawn presented the little gardeners with gifts at the end.
