For families who are interested in Caravonica State School for their children you are more than welcome to complete an enrolment application and have your child placed on our waiting list for the following year.
Prep Enrolment Information
The Prep Year is available to children of eligible age. Prep Year is full-time and compulsory. Children will need to be 5 by 30 June in the year they enrol in Preparatory Year. To determine if your child is eligible to enrol in prep please check the Education Queensland's Prep online calculator.
Delayed entry to Prep is an option which may be considered in specific circumstances and where it is in a child's best educational interests. Caravonica State School has an Enrolment Management Plan (PDF, 145KB). Please read this document.
In-catchment and sibling enrolments
If your child's principal place of residence is within our catchment area or they are a sibling of a current student please complete the enrolment form (PDF, 9.5MB), and submit them to the school office. You are welcome to collect an enrolment form from our office or download it from our website, complete them and return them to our office with your child's birth certificate for sighting.
As per our School Enrolment Management Plan (PDF, 145KB), new families living within catchment need to provide current proof of residency by way of one of each of the following:
- One primary source - a current rental/lease agreement or rates notice, or unconditional sale notice; and
- One secondary source – a utility bill (electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent's/legal guardian's name.
Parents of students with siblings at Caravonica State School and those in catchment will be contacted around July/August 2022. This will be to make an appointment for you and your child to attend an interview with the Principal.
Out-of-catchment enrolments
If your child's principal place of residence is NOT within our catchment area please complete an enrolment form (PDF, 9.5MB) and submit them to the school office in person to be placed on a waiting list.
You are welcome to collect enrolment forms from our office or download them from our website, complete them and return them to our office with your child's birth certificate for sighting.
Parents will be contacted if a position becomes available.
Parent information sessions
The Parent information session for future Prep students are held in October. More information about this session will be sent to families closer to the date.
Our 'Stay and Play' orientation days are held in November and this day is discussed at the enrolment interview. Students will need a hat, drink bottle and covered in shoes when attending these sessions. A parent/carer will also need to stay and support the Prep student.
